Note: We're moving to a new and faster server
September 13-15 and some features may not
be available during the transition.

Welcome to Collage Town where we celebrate the art of collage and photomontage -- traditional and digital. The site is constantly developing with exhibits of the finest collage artists working today, information on the history of collage, techniques and a look at classic collage art.

What is Collage?

Collage is an art form in which the artist creates or takes a number of items and places them together within the boundaries of paper, frame or screen. The goal is to craft a message or feeling by the very patterns, content and often unexpected interaction. more.

Photomontage

Photomontage, like collage, attempts to convince us that a certain world might actually exist in which the familiar objects and words around us are somehow transformed and live together in ways we can see only through the work of the artist. Although found objects are often used in enhancing the art, photography is a significant factor in this medium.

This Site

Collage Town is a celebration of both Collage and Photomontage, forms of art and vision that have been infused with life with the advent of electronic graphic editing and the Internet.

The site offers up an extensive showing of the work of Brian Robertson, but CollageTown both actively solicits and displays other artists who deserve to have their efforts recognized and appreciated.

For more information, contact us! Please do not send images or attachments unless solicited.

In addition, you'll note CollageTown is the home of the Collage WebRing. The best collage sites on the web are featured, so once you've seen this site, simply scroll down on this page and make the rounds!

We're very proud of our growing LINKS page!

"The imagination, therefore, can create in a dream -- in the sense of producing visions not seen before.

Admittedly, these visions are formed by materials already contained in the dreamer's memory, but they are formed like the fortuitous combinations of pieces of glass in a kaleidoscope..."

....The Marquis de Saint-Denys, 1867
